Sara Killeen – President, Longitudes Group, LLC

Sara Killeen is the President and a founding member of Longitudes Group, LLC. Sara brings 18 years of Golf Marketing expertise with high profile golf brands Foot-Joy and Nike Golf, and now as a marketing and research consultant. Sara is the architect of research-based marketing strategies for all Longitudes Group clients. Sara’s focus is to translate the market insights brought to bear by the research into the development and execution of high-impact marketing and business plans for a wide variety of projects and clients. The plans give the client a road map for their unique project to be successfully positioned in the marketplace, while giving flexibility in altering project costs to suit client’s needs
and budget.

Prior to founding Longitudes Group, Sara worked for industry-leading brands Foot-Joy and Nike. Working under the mantra that the ‘best marketing will not sell a poor product’, she has led teams in both product line management, marketing research and in traditional marketing positions.

Sara is a frequent guest speaker in the golf and sports industry having conducted marketing and travel seminars for the Urban Land Institute, National Golf Course Owners Association, PGA Magazine, Sales & Marketing Institute, Avenue A Client Summit and Longitudes Group’s own
Travel Symposium.

In the early ’90s, Killeen led the Nike Women’s Fitness product team out of the Aerobics era into the new consumer generation of ‘Total Conditioning’. Capturing and articulating important consumer insights on fitness, working-out and lifestyles enabled the product and marketing team to bring the right products to market.

Nike Golf’s entry into entirely new categories of Golf hard goods demanded researching consumer insights on product positioning, brand integration, marketing strategy development, and the utilization and positioning of brand athletes, like Tiger Woods. Killeen was an integral member and leader for the brand, turning market insights into valuable gains for Nike Golf in creating new revenue growth and capturing the mindshare of avid golfers.

Sara is a graduate of Oklahoma State University, with a B.A. in Business and an M.B.A. from the University of Washington. Passionate for the game of golf and for marketing, Killeen was a four-time NCAA Academic All-American while playing Varsity golf for Oklahoma State University. She now gets her kicks winning a $2 Nassau.
